Beautiful bed and breakfast

We usually stay in Air BnB's, so it was nice to stay at a full-service bed and breakfast for a change. This historic home is lovely and within walking distance of the downtown area. We stayed in the Ducournau Suite, located on the lower level, at the rear of the home. The suite is a two-room suite with a king-size bed, a separate seating area, a closet with a mini refrigerator (which was nice for us). Our room had a rear door that led to the backyard. The bathroom has a free-standing single sink and a ginormous Jacuzzi tub with a shower. I found the tub to be awkward to climb into to take a shower. There was a train that occasionally went by, but our room was quiet and we slept well. Breakfast was good. I do wish the time was a little more flexible to allow for earlier starts. I peeked in two rooms upstairs: one with a king size bed and seating area with a couch; the other two queen bedrooms with a shared bath. This is a beautiful bed and breakfast and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Cozy bedroom with dark wood dresser, mirror, and lamps on a blue wall. Floral bedding on bed. Open bathroom door with warm lighting.
Guest Phoenix Robin loved the "quiet atmosphere" and the private rear entrance of the Ducournau Suite during her recent stay at our historic bed and breakfast.

Elegant bedroom with blue floral bedding, dark wood headboard, and navy pillows. A lit lamp on a floral-patterned table adds warmth.
"The room was quiet and we slept well." — Phoenix Robin. From our custom blue-print duvets to the soft glow of the bedside lamps, every detail in the Ducournau Suite is designed for your comfort and a refreshing night's sleep at our historic bed and breakfast.

Review Response:

It is so rewarding to hear that your stay in the Ducournau Suite provided a refreshing change of pace from the usual AirBnB experience! We are thrilled you enjoyed the historic charm of the home and found the quiet atmosphere conducive to a great night's sleep. Thank you for your honest feedback regarding the Jacuzzi tub. We hope that the installed grab bars made it easier for you to get into the tub.

We certainly want our guests to start their day on the right foot—and we understand sometimes that means starting a little earlier! While we have set dining hours to ensure everything is fresh from the kitchen, we can sometimes make an exception if you let us know your schedule in advance. We would love to welcome you back soon. Perhaps we can help you pick out one of those upstairs rooms you peeked at for your next visit!
