There is always a little trust involved when you choose a place to stay. You look at the photos, read about the rooms, check the reviews and hope what you find when you arrive lives up to what you saw online.
For TripAdvisor reviewer juliecZ7167ZR of Austin, Texas, her August 2026 stay at the Andrew Morris House Bed and Breakfast with her husband and son did more than that.
“Everything was exactly as described and went beyond our expectations.”
They stayed in the Tucker Suite, and that one sentence may be our favorite part of her review.
What Is It Like to Stay at the Andrew Morris House Bed and Breakfast?
This guest described the Andrew Morris House as “charming, beautiful, comfortable and immaculate.” Her TripAdvisor ratings backed that up with five bubbles for Value, Rooms, Location, Cleanliness, Service and Sleep Quality.
But some of the most memorable details of her stay weren't about ratings at all.
The family found a warm welcome from Zeffie, the innkeeper, and the housekeeper working during their visit. They also enjoyed what the guest called a “delicious breakfast” and the conversation that came with it.
That's where things got a little more personal.
A Family Stay in the Tucker Suite
The Tucker Suite gave this family of three room to stay together while still having separate sleeping spaces. Located upstairs, the suite has two bedrooms, each with a queen-size four-poster canopy bed, and a private bathroom serving the suite with a walk-in shower and double-sink vanity.
The guest specifically praised the comfort and cleanliness of the house—and awarded five bubbles in both Rooms and Cleanliness.
Sometimes a review tells us exactly what mattered without requiring much interpretation.
Sometimes Breakfast Is About More Than Breakfast
Breakfast at the Andrew Morris House is served in two courses, but this family apparently left the table remembering more than the food.
They enjoyed talking with Zeffie and the housekeeper, especially after hearing about Zeffie's “MANY, MANY grandchildren and great-grandchildren.”
We won't attempt to fit that family tree into this blog post.
But we love that the conversation made it into the review. A good breakfast matters. So does feeling comfortable enough to sit around the table, visit for a while and remember the conversation after you've gone home.
And perhaps the best ending came from the guest herself:
“We hope we will have the opportunity to stay in this delightful town and bed & breakfast for even longer the next time!”
We particularly like those words: “this delightful town.”
Because that's what we hope happens. You come to stay with us, enjoy the Andrew Morris House, spend some time discovering Natchitoches—and leave wishing you'd given yourself another day.
We hope this family gets that longer visit next time.
And considering the number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren involved, we're guessing there may still be a few breakfast stories left to tell.
